gentradjacent
When a neighborhood in your city or town isn't itself gentrified yet, but is adjacent to one or many recently gentrified neighborhoods. Usually viewed by gentradjacent dwellers in a positive light, as in being morally superior to living somewhere that has been gentrified, but in reality receives nearly all the benefits of gentrification without having to receive the criticism for the negative effects of gentrification.
Person 1: Hey man, don't you live over in Ridgewood?
Person 2: Yeah, I do. I couldn't make myself live in that Williamsburg. The gentrification over there disgusts me.
Person 3: Oh come on, you're totally gentradjacent. That's bullshit!
