The character featured in It's Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini. He checks himself into a mental hospital and stays there for a few days. Ned Vizzini wrote the book in approximately one month and used about 85% of his actual experience; he added in the love triangle, changed his age during the events, manipulated the races and personalities of the actual people there, and changed some names around.
