Governtainment
A style of politics in which the lines between government and entertainment are blurred. For example, famous entertainers might use their celebrity and charisma to gain political office. On the other hand, politicians might use entertainment techniques while in office, such as making sensational, headline-grabbing statements. Politicians who practice governtainment will tend to prioritize public image over all other concerns, even if that comes at the expense of substantive achievements. Furthermore, these politicians' prioritization of image leads to a lack of basic political consistency, which makes it very difficult to predict their behaviour.
With the election of Donald Trump, we have entered the era of governtainment.
