Grand Bay is an unincorporated community in south Mobile County, Alabama. Grand Bay is roughly 8.7 square miles with a population of roughly 3,900 people (U.S. Census, 2000).
Grand Bay is often also considered a farming community, with a primary focus on watermelon, cotton, pecans, and cattle. Each year the Grand Bay Watermelon Festival is held at the local ballpark.

Every July 4th Grand Bay holds a Watermelon Festival at the baseball park west of town. Much like a local fair, there are games and activities in addition to lots of free watermelon, provided by the farmers of the community.
Some of the most popular events are the "largest watermelon contest" and the watermelon seed spitting contest.
