guloya
Refers to the cocolo Christmas dance ceremonies in the Dominican Republic, where colorful disguises, and feathered headgear with masks are used. The guloya / cocolo dances are known in St. Kitts as "mascarade", in which old English theater tradition / plays involving music, dance, acting etc... links the Dominican cocolos to its Anglo-roots in St. Kitts.
