俚语 harlem tussle
释义

Harlem Tussle

Originally coined by the New York Police working the city's Harlem neighborhoods in the 1960's. The Tussle usually takes place on a Friday or Saturday evening when a man and woman start drinking in their apartment and become too drunk to go out for the night. One thing leads to another and a nasty fight ensues and the cops have to be called. Usually the cops want to arrest the man but the woman starts to profess her love for him and that it was only a lovers quarrel. The cops threaten them both and leave happy that they dont have to fill out a lot of paperwork.
Me: What was that ruckus I heard last night?
Friend: Arlene and her man were doin the Harlem Tussle again.
