俚语 hipler
释义

Hipler

n. 1. An uber, holier-than-thou hipster. 2. A snobby, know-it-all hipster whose snobbery is painful to all those around him.
Ian thinks Keith is such a Hipler when it comes to the Portland music scene.
Urban Dictionary is a total Hipler!

hipler

The term Hipler is a portmanteau of Hitler and Hipster and describes a modern subculture that derives individual and group identity through strong adherence to cultural, fashionable socio-political trends.

Like a hipster, when regarding fashion, a hipler does not innovate, instead imitating and coopting current trends in areas such as fashion or music.

The hipler however extends this interiorization and co-option of #trending phenomena to social and political spheres. Hiplers, often collectively referred to as the Hipler Youth, may engage in superficial and performative activism as dictated by the predominant trending school of thought within the Hipler subculture. Ironically, despite a professed emphasis on achieving change and progress, often through a deconstructionist and pluralistic approach, the hipler subculture is notably orthodox, homogenous, deindividualized and societally sheltered, resulting in an often authoritarian refusal of dialogical analysis of wider cultural issues.
That house party was full of hiplers! All they played on the stereo was neofolk and all they talked about were the plight of minority groups but they all live in the city and cross the road when walking past certain minority groups. I'll take a crowd of rowdy bogans any day.
