A person who constantly tries to stay fit, but only does so in order to cover their empty soul. Hollbaum means "empty tree" on German, thus the definition of something that has a tough appearance, but is hollow on the inside.
The man spent a great amount of hours each week at the gym, in order to maintain a strong appearance though he has a sad soul, therefore he is a Hollbaum.
