俚语 hutchism
释义

hutchism

An existentialist/rationalist/truist doctrine of philosophy developed in the South West of England in the early 21st century, which states that what is true and material can only be verified by what is seen and reported. An often used example is the Chadwickian Leg theorem, which simplifies the school of thought "fuit ergo est" (it was: therefore it is). Can also be expressed through the quasi-interrogative statement of affirmation - pointing out that which is patent and materially obvious without requiring confirmation by a third party.
Notable examples of this hutchism and the hutchist discourse include: "On the beers?" and "Saturday Football?".
