It's tasting time
"It's tasting time!" (イッツテイスティングタイム!) is Cilan's catchphrase in the original Japanese version of the animated series Pocket Monsters Best Wishes ("Pokémon the Series: Black and White" in English). Cilan, named "Dent" in the original Japanese version, has a habit of using English-language words and phrases in the Japanese version.
Cilan uses his catchphrase in his role as a "Pokémon Sommelier", when he is about to evaluate the compatibility of a trainer and their respective pokémon. He comments on the pair's partnership and bond, and gives advice on how they can improve it. The practice and its associated jargon are a reference to wine and food pairing, and to wine tasting.
In the English dub of the anime, the wine analogies are obfuscated, in order to avoid any blatant alcohol references. Pokémon Sommeliers are called "Pokémon Connoisseurs" in the dub. As for the catchphrase, the makers of the dub eventually settled on adapting "it's tasting time" to "it's evaluating time", although the earliest episodes of the series used other lines.
