Jodesian
(formed on the stem “Jodes-,” a character name on the HBO series “Sharp Objects,” which was based on Gillian Flynn’s novel of the same title)
1. LGBTQ-friendly descriptive term for persons whose actions are motivated by same-sex desire that they can’t openly acknowledge;
1a. Sometimes used more generally to refer to same-sex triangulated relationships in general.
2. Less frequently, the term is applied to characters who function as a secret object of desire or as the hidden emotional touchstone in a narrative (short story, novel, film).
