Karenism

Named after Philippine broadcast journalist Karen Davila, who has more than once, during interviews famously issued foolish statements and questions, thereby flooding social media with funny memes.

A Karenism is when you slur words together and you are of sound mind and body. You then proceed to insist that the slurred words is an actual word.

Judging someone for having the same Karen/ using their name against them.

A fake disorder directed to entitled men/women by numerous Redditors. The main symptoms of Karenism are rampant entitlement and anti-vaccine belief.

"Karenism" is the desire to control the definition of the term "Karen."

Karenism is a social act of men and/or women whose logical thinking is usually viewed as insane or illogical, due to the short mindedness of specific human beings who are seen as hypocrisies and outcasts of modern-day society. Karenism can be directly tied to many traits common in people labelled as "Karen" or "Chad," those traits being racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, zealotism, belief that they are more superior than someone, a concerning amount of entitlement, and consistently demanding to speak to the manager if something doesn't go their way. Other traits include believing in conspiracy theories, lying to authorities, putting their religion first instead of the lives around them, and generally, anything anyone can think of that would describe a Karen perfectly.

Although the term "Karen" describes the behaviour of a single entitled man or woman demonstrating what Karens usually do, a "Karenist" is someone supporting the ideology of Karenism, rather than being the very definition of a Karen.

Karen is a proper name and should not be used as a term. There are so many better options than using a name. Bitch, asshole or cunt to name a few.

When you use Karen as a slang term to mean "bad" or "vile" you slowly perpetuate feelings of anger and hate being directed at people named Karen. A name is very important to your identity. It is one of the first things your parents give you. Endorphins are released in a person’s brain when they hear their name spoken. It is like your own personal song that makes your brain happy. I understand this all started as a joke and in the beginning it was a little funny, but we are going on years of the world telling us, Karens are vile. Many Karens have legally changed their name because of the backlash it is causing. Using it or not is up to you but just know it is causing harm.
