Lampardian Transition
The act of conversing light-heartedly but then shifting quickly to a much more serious tone.
The Lampardian Transition usually starts as an (often bad) joke, but then instantly changes to a much more serious subject.
Here’s an example:
“So then the shopkeeper said that I looked like Baby Yoda, but no seriously my wife left me.”
Here’s an example:
