Lishole
The most common name for lismore, used by locals, neighbours, and pretty much anyone who has ever been there. This name is used as lismore is literally located in a hole, which periodically fills with water.
"Oi cunt, you been to lishole recently? no? wanna come pick up some bud with me?"
Sheh’aino yodea lishol
In Hebrew, you’ll see it as שאינו יודע לשאול.
The origin of this phrase comes from the Jewish Passover Seder, where it discusses how to respond to 4 different types of children regarding the Exodus from Egypt. The wise son, the wicked son, the simple son, and the son who doesn’t even know how to ask a question. That one is known as the שאינו יודע לשאול.
It used to only be used in the context of the Seder, but nowadays it’s generally used to describe anyone who’s a complete dumbass. Someone who has no clue what’s flying. Someone who would be a 3rd wheel in any normal group of people.
Another way the term is used is for a specific type of guy in yeshiva. A guy who doesn’t learn, doesn’t make money, and doesn’t chill hard. If he’s doing one of those 3 things, then he doesn’t fall under the category of being a שאינו יודע לשאול. A שאינו יודע לשאול in yeshiva is the guy who has no life, and is completely wasting his time. For example, it’s the guy who wakes up at 9am, and instead of going to shiur, he’s watching a movie! SMFH 🤦 ♂️
