俚语 little jenny
释义

Little Jenny

(1) An obnoxious person who contradicts others often for the purpose of showing off. The contradiction is typically irrelevant or unimportant. A reference to an article or journal is usually included as support for the contradiction.
(2) Any irrelevant contradiction, usually preceded by the following phrases: actually, just so you know, you're wrong.
n.b. Nearly everyone in the world is a little jenny.
"Wow the sky is so clear today," says John.
Jenny chimes in, "Actually, you're wrong. There's one cloud in the sky. I read in an article that the sky has to be completely free of clouds in order to be considered clear."
"Don't be such a little jenny," John replies, slapping Jenny across the back of the head.
