STORY
Louis Mayes, better known under his stage name Loon-E-Toon or Big Loon-E-Toon, is a gangsta rap artist & producer from Inglewood, CA. He was also affiliated with the Center Park Bloods (CPB).
He started in the 2nd half of the 80's under the moniker M.C. Loon-E-Tune & formed with DJ Battery Brain the duo Legion Of Boom, which performed in 1989 the song Lyrical Assassin on the classic old school compilation "The Compton Compilation - The Sound Control Mob Under Investigation. He also released in 1992 the very rare 12 Chronic still along with DJ Battery Brain.
But even if he was in the rap game for a while, Loon-E-Toon really came to prominence on the L.A. rap scene in 1993 with the song Inglewoodz Finast & the EP of the same title released with DJ Mike Tee.
Loon-E-Toon appeared then on several classic albums "Wanted" by Gangsta of The Comrades in 1995 or the compilation of Blood-affiliated rappers "B-Dawgs Come Better" under the alias Loonie in 1996 & released in 1998 "The Takeover". This album is a classic & is sought after by many collectors.
Big Loon-E-Toon eventually produced 3 tracks on E-Dawg's "Platinum" album released in 1999. He's featured on 2 of these songs.
