Also known as “China’s Great Revival.” A slogan by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to restore China to its past glory as one of the greatest civilizations in the world following its defeat and humiliation in colonial and war times, and Mao’s decades-long totalitarian rule that impeded the motherland’s progress economically and scientifically.
Few critics could deny that leveraging on the policies put in place by his previous three predecessors, Comrade Xi has transformed China into a wealthy major power with a modern military and advanced tech sector, while cracking down on political opponents and getting tough on big shady businesses and filthy rich individuals. No doubt, the new emperor is boldly preaching about “Make China Great Again!”
