Mandelpraten
A conversation stripped of politeness and superficiality. In essence, getting straight to the point and adressing issues considered taboo or uncomfortable, which ultimately will lead to realisation of the self and openness in society.
English translation - «the almond talk». Originates from the Norwegian expression «to walk around the porridge», similar to «beating around the bush». A Norwegian christmas tradition is to eat rice pudding with one almond hidden in the kettle, the person finding the almond in their bowl wins a marzipan pig. «Mandelpraten» is therefore implying going straight to the juicy part of the conversation, defying the social norms of small talk, bullshit and exaggerated courtesy.
