When the authorities try to indoctrinate an oft-frightened or semi-informed lay public that mask-wearing is mandatory to protect them against the coronavirus, regardless of whether they are vaccinated or not, even though their knowledge with regard to the extent to which masking is effective against deadlier variants of the virus is half-baked.
With rising infection and mortality rates in spite of a decent rate of vaccination in the population, a number of governments in the West are turning to maskism to contain the corona crisis in the face of deadlier variants.
