A portmanteau that combines the words: Medieval and Evil. It is used to denote punishments or other actions that were committed long ago but are no longer legal and/or acceptable today. For example: burning witches, stoning women for adultery, bloodletting, foot binding, washing your face with urine, using lead power as a cosmetic foundation, etc..
