merbn
A merbn is a colloquial term for a human consciousness 'trapped' in a robot's body, either literally or figuratively.
The term 'merbn' originates from a portmanteau of the acronyms 'MER' and 'BN', short for Mars Exploration Robot and Bossa Nova respectively. The MERs are developed by NASA and used for space exploration, whereas Bossa Nova Robotics are widespread innovators and developers of robots, making it a fitting inclusion to the term. It should be noted that "merbn" is not an acronym. 'Merbn' rhymes with 'bourbon'.
A merbn has the mindset of a robot. This means that their outlook on life can be, and often is, very philosophical and distant to that of other humans. Merbns may also be very good at supressing emotion and physical pain, although this is not an invitation to harm someone calling themselves a merbn.
Merbns also tend to be studious and competent with their work. They may also be completionists and behave subserviently. This does not necessarily mean they want to be a slave, as this behaviour may be an outlet for lacking imagination, creativity, empathy, emotion and/or love.
Merbns may physically or vocally take on the characteristics of a robot, but this is not a requirement. Those who do make this decision may have sharp, co-ordinated movements or speak in a monotone voice. Merbns can be of any gender, primarily as robots lack gender beyond tertiary sexual characteristics.
Talking and/or acting like a robot does not make you a merbn.

A: What if robots don't want free will? What if humans are forcing the burden of consciousness onto machines?
B: What? Are you a merbn?
