俚语 merobiba
释义

Merobiba

A merobiba (may be written as the proper noun Merobiba) is any meme, video, character, joke, or other content/reference, which helps an individual take any negative or depressing thought and connect it to a silly redirection that interrupts the unwanted emotional cycle with humor. This association, like any other desired thought pattern, can be deepened/trained with repetition.

This use of the word comes from the character/meme Merobiba from the Drawfee YouTube channel; she's a derpy parody of Merida from Disney's "Brave". Merobiba regularly states "I'm Merobiba!" after sharing facts about herself (for example, "I won a contest for my own hand in mawwiage. I'm Merobiba!"). On the subject of accidentally causing her family to be turned into bears, Merobiba somberly shared, "Sometimes I think about the enormity of my mistake, and the pain and suffering I've caused those closest to me, and I wonder if it's worth it to continue going ..." and then cheerfully proclaimed, "I'm Merobiba!"

Most merobibas are based in somewhat dark humor, since they generally begin with or involve some sort of depressing topic, particularly negative self-talk, but a merobiba can be anything silly that anyone finds tends to come to mind when they're in a low mood.
"That hilarious edit someone made, where it looks like Dr. K is arguing with and insulting himself, is definitely a new merobiba for me. Now whenever I think to myself 'You're not worth very much. Don't speak, that's stupid', I can't help but think of that video and laugh."

"I saw a pic of a dog wearing a melon rind on its head, with text saying 'Are you feeling a little ... MELON COLLIE?'. I saved it to keep it fresh in my mind, been a pretty good merobiba lately."
