Missouri State University is the second-largest university in the state, with nearly 22,000 students. Its beautiful campus was founded in Springfield, Missouri in 1905.
The Missouri State University System also includes campuses in West Plains, MO, Mountain Grove, MO, and Dalian, China.

Men's basketball reached the NCAA tournament 6 times (Sweet Sixteen in 1999, with the legendary Coach Charlie Spoonhour), the women 13 tournament appearances (Final Four in 1992, 2001). Baseball made the College World Series in 2003.
MSU volleyball earned their 1,000th win in 2006, only the 2nd in NCAA history to reach that milestone.
Alumni include actor John Goodman, basketball superstar Jackie Stiles (the NCAA D-I leading women's scorer), baseball giant Ryan Howard, Senator Roy Blunt, Governor Bob Holden, and Walmart CEO/KC Royals owner David Glass.
