(mo-destrian) A mobile pedestrian. A problem has risen in the fact that the word "handicapped" has become a broad term used for anyone with any various type of impairment. Modestrian means specifically a person that is completely restricted to a wheelchair.
There is a grassroots movement among many New York City residents to remove the handicapped status of parking spots, and to replace it with modestrian only parking signs.
