Mandy Rice-Davies Applies. Shorthand for "He/She/They would say that, wouldn't he/she/ they?" Origin is Ms Rice-Davies giving evidence in court during the 1960's Profumo affair. She was asked her response to Profumo's claim that the two had never met and replied "He would say that, wouldn't he?"
