Ayanami
A Japanese war ship that was sunken in World War 2.
The Ayanami isn't just a anime character. In fact, it was a battleship in the 1940's.

Pilot of the Evangelion unit-00 prototype.
Ayanami Rei, 14 years old, designated pilot of Unit-00.
Ayanami
A female character in the controversial anime series "Neon Genesis Evangelion". She has light blue hair and red eyes even though her most hated color is the color red because it is te color of blood. She rarely displays any emotion during the length of the anime series. Rei Ayanmi was created in the Chamber of Gauf by combining the DNA of Shinji Ikari's mother( Yui Ikari) and the second angel Lilith. There are many Ayanamis down in the Chamber of Gauf and they are all empty vessels to which a soul must be transferred to them to make them whole. She unites with Lilith in the End of Evangelion in order to initiate the Third Impact or the Human Instrumentality Project. She has a small amount of genetic makeup from Yui Ikari so therefore is Shinji Ikari's "relative". She ultimately dies during The End of Evangelion because Shinji Ikari rejected her gift of the Third Impact.
Rei Ayanami is one of the most interesting and complex characters in the anime series:"Neon Genesis Evangelion".
Ayanami
1. The only interesting anime character ever, with no comparison and no equal, only applicable in conjunction with Rei.
2. One of the evangelion pilots from some anime show about an annoying japanese boy who whines about too much crap. Ayanami Rei, a female, is the only interesting person in the cast/crew/whatever, even though she is a fictional character. She is half human and half evil alien creature.
3. The only good thing to come out of japan since highly advanced forms of live vivisection and germ warfare. O, and they discovered the positron and anti-matter, which was not too bad.
4. Some kind of japanese word, it's english meaning is unknown.

Those gainax cretins should have made the whole show about Ayanami.
Rei Ayanami
Rei Ayanami (ˆ»”g ƒŒƒC, Ayanami Rei?) is a fictional character from the anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion and the films Evangelion: Death and Rebirth and The End of Evangelion.
Rei Ayanami is the First Child (First Children in the Japanese version) and pilot of Unit 00. She is socially withdrawn and rarely interacts with anyone, except for NERV Commander Gendo Ikari, to whom she initially displays some loyalty but with whom she has a generally distant relationship (she says in Episode 15 that she "doesn't know what kind of person he is"). She lives by herself in a drab, dingy, underfurnished apartment in Tokyo-3, a clutter of books being her only apparent luxury items (assuming they are not, in fact, schoolbooks). Toward the end of the series, Shinji Ikari comments that her apartment is very similar to the place where Ritsuko Akagi says she was born.

Rei Ayanami's beauty comes from the truth that she has feelings. When she cried, it meant the waters of the pool were coming out at last. The struggle to draw your feelings forth, the reconciliation between your surface and your death - that, I believe, is where we truly become alive, truly become human begins." Hayashibara, "What I learned from meeting a girl who didn't know.

Mountains. The heavy mountains. Something that changes over time. Sky. The blue sky. Something we can't see. Something we can see. The sun. Something there is only one of. Water. Something that feels nice. Commander Ikari? Flowers. Many of the same thing. Many things I don't want. Sky. The red, red sky. The colour red. I don't like red. Flowing water. Blood. The smell of blood. A woman who does not bleed. Human beings, made from red clay. Human beings, made from man and woman. The city. Something created by man. Evas. Something created by man. What is man? Something created by God? Man is something created by man? All I have is my life, my heart. Entry plug, the vessel of the heart. The seat of the soul. Who is this? This is me. Who am I? What am I? What am I? What am I? What am I? I am myself. This object is myself. The shape that forms my self. This is the me that can be seen. But I sense that I am not me. It's very strange. I feel my body melting away. I no longer recognise myself. My form is fading away. I sense someone who is not me. Is someone there, beyond here? Shinji? I know this person. Major Katsuragi. Dr Akagi. Everyone. My classmates. Unit 02's pilot. Commander Ikari? Who are you? Who are you? Who are you?
