n. 1) (business speak) To make repeated, hearty promises during telephone conversations, but never record them in any correspondance.

'Mullengered' - the act of being caught-out by Mullengering, when the offendee spends an hour searching in vain through emails for any hint of the promise made.
"I could have sworn that Acme promised there would be no extension to lead time, but now I can't find a single email with the delivery date in, it seems we've been well and truly Mullengered!"
