俚语 narapoia
释义

Narapoia

The reverse of paranoia, from the 1948 Science Fiction short story, "Narapoia", by Alan Nelson. Delusions that one is following somebody, or that others are plotting to do the victim good.
"Well, I keep having this strange feeling that people are plotting to do me good. That they're trying to be benevolent and kind toward me. I don't know exactly who they are, or why they wish me all this kindness, but...it's all very fantastic, isn't it?"

This new disorder apparently had symptoms opposite from paranoia; he would call it "narapoia".

Narapoia

An inverted form of paranoia characterized by the delusional belief that people are out to help you. The term was coined by Sheldon Kopp in his 1978 book, "The End of Innocence"
People suffering from narapoia do little to take care of themselves beyond trying harder and harder to
please the people who treat them badly. The more coldly detached their lovers, the more trustingly narapoids cling to them.
