俚语 neosiege
释义

neosiege

derived from the medieval, siege warfare.
A military operation in which enemy forces surrounded a town or building, cutting off essential supplies, with the aim of compelling those inside to surrender or convert.

A Neosiege, is an evolution of a traditional siege. Made possible by advancements in technology. This modernized version of a siege can not only be placed on a localized group in a fortified position. But on a targeted, decentralized part of the population that hold a common belief or stance. Or even on a individual who hold the wrong beliefs.

Example of a 21st century Neosiege on a decentralized part of a population.
Vaccine mandates / passports.

A Vaccine passport system uses a technological means of enforcement. That removes a targeted groups access to essential supplies and or the ability to earn money in the local economy. Whilst simultaneously limiting if not completely eliminating the ability to leave the region. The latter enforced by military checkpoints on border crossings, and port or air authorities requiring vaccination prof to leave.

(this has nothing to do with the effectiveness and is not a value judgement on weather any individual should or shouldn't choose to be vaccinated. This is souley a observation of an evolved style of military tactics that is being used by governments to achieve a goal.)
If you do not comply.
You can not leave.
you can not keep you job.
you can not keep a roof over your head.
you can not put food on the table for your children.

If the reason someone "chose" to be vaccinated was due to one of the above threats.
That is prof of the efficacy of a Neosiege.
