Nihiloromantic
A person who doesn’t consider the category of “romantic feelings” or “romantic relationships” to be meaningful or useful. The hypothesis is that, since what is considered romantic or not is highly subjective and depending on the constructs one adopts, and since all the parties involved in a bond can choose to reject the constructs anyway, romantic vs non-romantic is an arbitrary label serving no purpose as it isn’t actually informative without a lot of context. Therefore, it isn’t a meaningful concept. They’re not alloromantic, but they’re not aromantic either. They’re not in the romantic-aromantic spectrum because to them, the idea of a romantic spectrum is already empty and devoid of meaning in the first place. Hence the prefix nihilo- implying “null” or “empty”.
Person A: Does she actually have any commitment to any romance at all?
Person B: No. She is nihiloromantic, so the idea/category of romance is nonsensical to her. Instead, what does have a meaning and a purpose to her is a natural & strong emotional bond, regardless of whether we view as romantic or as not.
