Papslayer
“Papslayer”
A "Papslayer" is an honourary title given to a player of Rangers in recognition of his achievements in playing his part in consistently scoring against Celtic of a high quality that led to victories, or the man has consistently played a strong part in the side to thwart Celtic from victory. The opposite of hunskelper. The player will have played his part in the respective matches such that his performance was of a standard that would rankle with the Celtic fans.
Derived from "Papist" - A commonly used term for a Catholic and supporter of Celtic and the verb "to Slay" (to strike or make a strong impression)
