Pre-AP
A high school course which encompasses the impossible workload, emotional scarring, and challenging nature of AP classes without boosting one's GPA or offering college credit.

Pre-AP
The equivalent name for "Honors", used for responsible 9th and 10th graders that actually care about college. Most find it challenging, and many switch out within 3 months of when school began. It can also mean the equivalent to hell for many students
Hey Mrs. DeKosky, what am i going to take for 9th Grade Science?
According to your schedule, you are taking Pre-AP Biology.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Can I switch out?
No, and that is final. Either take Pre-AP Biology or fail 9th Grade.

Pre-AP Functions
A very fast math class that will make you squirm in pain and end up 10 days behind even though it's only been 5 days since the course started.
This class generally has 5 groups of kids:
The Human Calculators: Very smart, do all the math in their head, find it very easy and don't do homework
The Forced Mathematicians: Hate math but mom and dad force them to take pre-ap, likely already took the course outside of school.
The Passionate Gang: Kids that love math, and are good at it, but aren't always as fast as human calculators.
The AP Kids: These people take all the AP courses that they can take, including Pre-AP Functions
The Whipped: Kids who randomly joined but aren't brilliant at math, often fall asleep for 2 weeks after course ends.

Pre-AP Punk
Term i coined to describe the large influx of "Non preppy/nerdy" kids taking advanced classes at my school. We dress like "Punks", "Goths", "Metalheads", or whatever you want to call us, but we're smart. Some of us succeed in advanced classes and some of us fail, but we're at least pushing ourselves, and not skating by on the bullshit curriculum the school system presents.
I fit the example of a Pre-AP punk. I walked into my Pre-AP English 2 class and my teacher literally thought i walked in the wrong classroom.
