Prerunner

Prerunner originally was the term used to describe any vehicle used to prerun an offroad course. Most race teams do not want to use their race car so they will use a prerunner to "pre-run" the course and mark hazards and practice. The definition has broadened to include daily driver trucks owned by race fans that have long traveled their trucks to be similar to race trucks or fully built race team prerunners.
