Bangwool = 방울 meaning a bell(specifically a jingle bell). It is the name BTS were gonna use as a fandom name but they decided army instead.

Namjoon revealed that A.R.M.Y once was supposed to be called Bangwool (korean for Bells). Now it's the inofficial name of ARMYs.
