Putnick

(Poot-nik)-noun,-verb. An overweight organism, of the feline species, submerged in a vat of tar and/or gasoline jelly then lit on fire and thrown over enemy fortresses to wreak havoc and promote confusion amongst citizens.
This method of ancient chemical warfare derived in medieval Europe and is thought to have originated from Germanic tribes.

The most famous use of this was during the Frank and Saxon war by Charlemagne the Great; it was advantageous to the victory of the Franks in 732 A.D.
