When someone says they play video games but not this new age Halo generation crap. I'm talking SNES and earlier. Before the days of Wii, PS2, or the internet, video gaming in a simpler form.
"I'm into retro gaming, my friends and I just finished Chrono Trigger for the fifth time last week."

The Playstation 2/Dreamcast/Gamecube/Xbox generation is considered the end of the retro gaming era.

I hereby declare that the cutoff for a game to be considered "retro" is 20 years. This will end all debate as to when "retro" truly begins.
It's 2022 now, and both Halo: Combat Evolved and Grand Theft Auto III came out in 2001, so... that means they qualify as "retro games"!
