RPG does not actually stand for Rocket Propelled Grenade, the abbreviation actually comes from the Russian phrase for "hand-held anti-tank grenade-launcher": Ruchnoi Protivotankovye Granatamyot.

When talking weapons, and RPG is an explosive projectile weapon. The RPG can fire self-destructing or destruct-on-impact rounds. It is commonly called a "Rocket Propelled Grenade", but this is incorrect; it's a Russian Acronym for Ruchnoi Protivotankovye Granatamyot(Handheld anti-tank launcher)
