俚语 sixism
释义

Sixism

When the severity of sexism is a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10, it is sixism, and it is described as sixist. Sexism is the discrimination or stereotyping against one gender, although it most commonly occurs against women. A list of examples of sexism that are not uncommon include:

Not allowing women to vote.
Not allowing women to play sport.
Saying that women should be in charge of the cooking and cleaning.
Saying that men don't cry just because they're men.
Saying that women are more organised just because they're women.
Not allowing men to like or wear the colour pink.
Not allowing women to like or wear the colour blue.
Allowing girls to wear skirts at school, but not allowing boys to wear shorts.
Saying that men should always pay the bill when going out.
Saying that women shouldn't drive.
Saying that women should be paid less than men just because they're women.
Feeling that one gender is superior to another in any way, or giving one gender unfair benefits.
Sixist person: I don't think that women should wear blue or men should wear pink.
Person 2: That is sexist. Actually, it is not the most sexist thing, but on a scale of 1 to 10, it is a 6, so it is sixist, and clear sixism to say that.
