Soul train
A soul train in ambulance meaning is when a big truck gets in the way of an ambulance, stopping it from getting to its patient. The idea is that the truck being there is not a coincidence, and the patient’s time on earth has come to an end and they’re not supposed to make it. A soul train comes out of nowhere, and keeps the medics from getting to them. There are myths that the soul train then takes the patient’s soul when it leaves.
Person: “ hey did you hear about that guy who passed the other day? Apparently the ambulance couldn’t get there for him.”
Person #2: “ yeah. A soul train got in the way. It wasn’t a coincidence his time on earth was up.”

Soul Train
Very long running TV program that started in 1971 and it featured the best in "black" music including R&B, soul, funk, disco, and hip-hop. Hosted by the coolest m-f'er ever and downright nice guy Don Cornelius (RIP)
Soul Train today is probably best remembered for it's "heyday" in the mid thru late 1970's. The awesome animated opening sequences, big afros, and bad 1970's fashions that strangely look "hip" now. Singer Jody Watley got her start on "Soul train" as a dancer btw!
The famous "line dance" where folks would be able to show off their moves to the latest hits. Always a "live" performance or two by a musical act, and of course Don Cornelius's interview. It wasn't called "the hippest trip in America" for nothing!
We miss you Don, we miss Soul Train, and we miss all the great music, talent, and sounds you exposed us to!

Where I grew up in the 1970's, "Soul Train" always came on after 'saturday morning cartoons' and it exposed me at a very young age to some great music at a young age!

At a club, a group of people dancing will often make a crowd on both sides of a single person, who proceeds to bust out cool dance moves by themselves. Generally the person in the middle will dance down the "aisle" of people.
Damn, did you see Liz bust out a move during the soul train tonight?
