The recognition that the events of one's life are simply occurrences and do not exist as part of a larger narrative; i.e. that one's real actions, encounters, internal thoughts and struggles do not have literary symbolism or merit, that one is not a character in the movie of their own life. The opposite of main character energy. Philosophically related to absurdism.
