a character in a narrative that is not focused on by the primary storyline, but appears or is mentioned in the story enough to be more than just a minor character

emotional support character
A character in any media form, usually from a TV show, that a fan feels close to emotionally and becomes their favorite character on the show. They would hypothetically die for that character because of how highly they think of them and would protect them at all costs.

supporting character syndrome
Similar to third wheeling, a side-effect of feeling outcast or playing second fiddle to someone more popular or important.

Person 2: Yeah.
