Tatemae is to do and say what your family, friends, peers, coworkers and others in society expect you to do and say versus Honne is to express your true opinions or feelings by saying or doing them. In context is only acceptable in several settings including but not limited to at home with your family, with close friends and when you're drunk at a bar after work with your coworkers.
