Tau Beta Sigma
Tau Beta Sigma is a co-ed national service sorority dedicated to serving collegiate marching bands and promoting women in music. Founded in 1946 by Wava Baines, Tau Beta Sigma grew out of a desire of the women at Texas Tech University to serve as part of the fraternity Kappa Kappa Psi. However, World War II prevented the men of KKPsi to convene and vote on allowing women in the fraternity, so the lovely Texas Tech women set out on founding their own organzation.
Today, TBSigma has founded 140 active chapters, has around 3000 active members and over 40,000 alumni.
