Pink Floyd Effect
(Also known as the Pink Floyd Stare) A physical and mental state of spiritual awe one gets when listening to the music of Pink Floyd. Similar to the effects of hallucinogens.
Jon was listening to Echoes when he started staring blankly at a wall. He was experiencing a Pink Floyd Effect.
The George Floyd Effect
When an issue becomes so prevalent and talked about whilst another issue is going on simultaneously that everyone forgets about the first issue, only for it to come back and become worse than what it ever was. Named after George Floyd, a man killed due to police brutality resulting in protests and riots across america during a pandemic, resulting in the pandemic becoming worse than it ever was before.
Person A: "This assignment is due in two days, but i'll ask for an extension and play pc games in the meantime"
Person A: "Oh crap, my pc isn't working, let me fix this"
Two days later
Person A: "I finally fixed my pc but now I am fucked because I have no time to this assignment".
Person B: "You should've known about The George Floyd Effect my dude".

The George Floyd Effect
The sudden massive influx of interracial relationships (usually with a black male and a white female) used in advertisements, various media outlets, and in peoples' personal lives since June of 2020.
"Dude, did you hear, Jessica is dating Jamal now."
"I thought she really wasn't into black guys like that?"

The Floyd Effect
Short for "The George Floyd Effect". When a population has an extreme reaction to an isolated incident involving only a few people out of hundreds of millions of people, usually due to media focus and sensationalization.
After further research into the issue, I feel that the widespread protests and violence are yet another great example of The Floyd Effect.
