triptych
1. A work consisting of three painted or carved panels that are hinged together.
2. In photography, 3 seperate photographs in one image that make up a story, or ordered progression.

I viewed a triptych the other day of the evolution of man.
Triptych
Triptych: Three of Marilyn Manson's early albums all in a similar theme with the same character. The story is in reverse order of the albums, however: Hollywood- the last album he made in the Triptych, is actually the first in the story.
3. (1996) Antichrist Superstar: album about a totalitarian leader's rise to power and the culmination of the character's journey of of becoming more than human.
2. (1998) Mechanical Animals: second half in the story. The character is famous, but fame is not how he imagined and he starts to lose his sense of self. This is a bitter criticism of fame from Manson's own inside perspective.
1. Holywood: This is the first part of the story, and an album Manson made combatting the allegations against him during the Columbine era. The character suffers tragedy and discovers his purpose- basically this is a foreshadowing of what is to come in Antichrist.

Yohan: I like Portrait (sic. of An American Family the most). It's just so fun.
Me: The Triptych is my favorite, and besides his Spooky Kids discography, it's all I listen to of his. He peeked out at a super natural level at Holywood.
Yohan: It really redeemed the slow tracks in Mechanical Animals.

A song by a globally successful K-pop boygroup BTS. The second Cypher to the entire Cypher series. (Cypher Pt.2: Triptych)
"Hey, have you listened to Cypher PT.2 Triptych?"
