What you call something that's of particularly high quality, referring mainly to things that are hype or have a high energy. Usually said in regards to a very good party, refreshing or tasty drink or beverage, a particularly hype show, etc. Always used in present tense.

When you throw your hat over the wall, you're committing to doing something. The phrase is derived from what you would do before you climb over a wall - you throw the hat over to the other side, so it doesn't fall off while you are climbing.
