俚语 thymiapoleia
释义

thymiapoleia

It basically means soul loss. The state of being spiritually or emotionally hollow or to refer to the partial or complete loss of ones soul. A person who "sold" their soul to the devil (or believes they did) could be said to suffer from thymiapoleia. Maybe someone under the influence of greatly mind-numbing drugs could be said to be thymiapolieuc. Thymiapoleia could also be a side effect of vampirism, since most vampires are depicted to be soulless or to have lack of empathy for humans.

From greek θυμός-(thymós-, “soul”) + απώλεια (-apṓleia, “loss”). A term I created to refer to soul loss as a psychiatric term for a not-so-scientific concept.

It can either be caused by numbing your spiritual awareness (due to trauma or heartbreak) or by dabbling in the dark arts. Whether or not you believe in witchcraft (particularly black-magic), it is proven that it has a negative spiritual effect on a person, slowly loosening their morals and making them a darker version of themselves.
The sole survivor of a car accident suffered from acute thymiapoleia due to the emotional trauma.
