turbo

Short for turbocharger. A method of forced induction that uses exhaust gasses to turn a turbine, which in turn drives an intake pump to force more air into the engine. Available on many vehicles as a factory option or as an aftermarket kit.

Turbo is the highest setting of 3 settings on my ceiling fan.

Turbo is a setting or level on which things can be put. Putting something on "turbo" implies it is faster, better, crazier, or overall more superlative in whichever context the term is used. Also whatever else you want it to mean; people will understand.

It is similar to the phrase "putting on blast" but applicable in a wider series of contexts.
