whoop yay
A combination of "whoop whoop whoop" and "yay". An unenthusiastic outburst by someone who is bored, dismayed, or just suprised. First coined by Middle School students in the Los Angeles county, this phrase moved up the grade levels into college students, and now is a widely used term throughout the U.S.
Teacher: Ok class, its time for a pop quiz!
Classmates: Whoop yay!
Classmates: Whoop yay!
