When you go on Wikipedia to read one article on one subject, and end up reading many other articles on completely unrelated subjects.
I was just on a Wikipedia chain. I was reading an article about beer and ended up on an article about dog shit.

I was going to attend my classes, but I got caught up in a Wikipedia daisy chain that was far more interesting and informative.
wikipedia-esque "chain of evil"
When Wikipedia (or other sites, like YouTube) draws you into clicking the next link on and on and on for hours on end. The "chain of evil" both binds you to your computer, and is fashioned by the binding of pages of the website together through the associations and similar meanings of their contents.
I've been stuck in a wikipedia-esque "chain of evil" for hours!
